Home owners are getting creative and adding texture to the fifth wall by using textured wallpaper, tin or embossed foam, ceiling tiles, shiplap, wooden beams, or a bold paint color. So be creative and make it your own!
2. Faux Finishing
Need an update but don’t want to spend a fortune? Then faux finishing is the way to go! There are so many available faux finishes such as removable wallpaper, floor decals, stick on subway tile, and wooden faux beams that have made it easier and cheaper to have the style you desire.
3. Brilliantly Brass
Brass is the new copper! It is being incorporated into items such as furniture and lighting fixtures in an overt way. Brass frames are being used on furniture pieces such as sofas, and is also being combined with other materials on lighting fixtures to add a touch of flare.
4. Extending Your Outdoor Space
Want to stay outdoors longer during the cooler months? By investing in a deep seat patio set and complementing it with a fire pit or outdoor heater, you can do just that! This is a great time to upgrade throw pillows, rugs, and planters that use warmers fall colors and textures as well. You will create a cozy, calm, and inviting space to come home to after a busy cold day.
5. Black is Back
Black accents are huge in design right now. Matte black light fixtures and faucets for bathrooms and kitchens have really started to become a popular accent when designing certain spaces. Black trim is a big trend as well creating a crisp/clean look when paired with a lighter neutral tone on the walls. This is a great way to give your home a new, fresh, trendy look without breaking the bank!
6. Low Maintenance is Life
Now a days it seems were constantly on the run. So keeping things as low maintenance as possible makes your at home time more relaxing and enjoyable. No one wants to come home and feel like they have so much more that needs to be done. A great way to improve the look and over all maintenance of your kitchen is to install quartz countertops instead of granite or marble.
7. Luxury Lighting
Add a chic and modern look to any room in your home by adding an eclectic light fixture. Look for pieces that allow you to give a personal touch to the space, and give off that “one of a kind” feel. Check your local antique shops or flea markets to find older pieces that you can spruce up and make them your own. With a little TLC you could take that old vintage fixture and turn it in to something fit for a queen.
